Summer Fayre

Sat 29 Jun | 12:00pm | The Sports Field, Goldsworth School

Planning is progressing well for this year's Summer Fayre.  A reminder of what's in stall:

Raffle/ Silent Auction prizes
We have been contacting local businesses to ask for donations for the Raffle and Silent Auction and have received some generous prizes including:-

A brand new bike from Action Bikes
Kindle Fire
Venture Photography Vouchers
6 months Gym Membership
& much, much more...

...but we still need your help. If any of you work for companies who would be willing to donate a prize to the school we would very much appreciate it. Or if any of you have any unwanted gifts which you would like to donate for either the Raffle or Silent Auction, and a huge thank you to those who already have, then we would be extremely grateful. Event tickets (sporting events, theatre tickets etc.) or unwanted new electrical items are particularly useful. The Raffle/Silent Auction is an extremely important aspect of the fund-raising that the Friends undertake at each Fayre but is only as successful as the standard of prizes we can offer. Without the kind donations we receive from parents and local companies we could not sell as many tickets as we do.

Poster competition

A reminder that we are looking for two winning designs for the poster competition, one from Juniors and one from Infants. There will be a prize for the two winners. The poster will be used to advertise the event in the local area so needs to be as colourful and eye-catching as possible. All entries should be on A4 paper and need to include the following information;

Goldsworth Summer Fayre
29th June 2013
12-3pm
Adults £1, children/OAPs free

Entries need to be handed into the office with name and class written on the back by 3.30pm on 7th June.
Advertising

Please let us know if you or your company would like to advertise in the programme. Remember, the programme has a large circulation so contact us for a great rate and let your advert reach hundreds of people! Please let us know by Wednesday 22nd May if you are interested.

Jolly Jars & Bottles for the Adult Tombola

We will be collecting Jolly Jars from Infants and Bottles for the adult tombola from Juniors in return for the mufti day which will be held on Thursday 20th June - put the date in your diaries!

  • Plants - Please bring in any plants you wish to donate for the plant stall to the school office from Thursday 27th June.
  • Cakes - Please bring in all your yummy, scrummy cakes for the cake stall on Friday 28th June, or to the Fayre itself.
  • Old Lipsticks - We are asking for any old lipsticks you may have for a fun new stall, please bring these to the school office from Monday 17th June until Friday 21st June.
  • Toys & Books - Please bring in all your unwanted new and nearly new toys and books from Monday 24th June. This is a great chance for a clear-out and to make space for all those new books and toys you can buy on the day!
  • Face-Painting - We would really love to have a face-painting stall as the children all enjoy having their faces painted so we are calling all artistic and creative parents who would be willing to do a shift to volunteer as soon as possible. Hopefully we will have enough volunteers to offer this at the Fayre!
  • Super-Soakers - We are hoping to have a tin-can alley so are asking for loans of super-soakers for the day! Please let us know as soon as possible if you would be willing to lend us your super-soaker.

Remember, the Summer Fayre is only 7 weeks away so if you can make a donation please let us know as soon as possible.

The Summer Fayre team can be contacted on the email address below if you have any questions or can make a donation. Alternatively, you can leave a message at the office and one of the team will contact you.

Many Thanks in advance
