As the warm weather approaches, its time to dust off the canvas ready for the Goldsworth Family Camp. Get in quick - the deadline for booking a place is Tuesday 12th June so make your booking soon! We have had to increase the adult cost but have kept the kids and other costs the same. As with last year day visitors are welcome on the Saturday.
All the details on this page we hope to add more activities and stalls over the coming days.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Family Camp team
Doors open from 1pm for campers and 2pm for day visitors; you will be checked in at the infant gate. Once checked in, campers drive down to the junior playground where you will be directed to your camping spot on the field. You can drive onto the field up to the cricket pitch to unload your camping equipment but then please do remove your car promptly and park in the junior playground to avoid congestion on the field. If the junior playground becomes full the infant playground will be used as an overflow. Please ensure you do not block any gates, or the area between the infant and junior playground at all times these are to be kept clear as emergency exits. Day visitors please park in the main car park to avoid problems exiting at the end of the day.
Due to the increased number of campers this year tent spaces will be allotted and cars will not be allowed in the pitching area.
The pool will be open from 2.35-5.45pm and access has been arranged in 5 sessions (2.35pm, 3.10pm, 3.45pm, 4.35pm and 5.10pm), a maximum of 25 people are swimming in each session. The adult to child ratios are as follows:
- Children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible person 16 years or over
- A responsible person in the pool may supervise up to four children between 4 and 8 years of age.
- Under 4 year olds must be accompanied in the pool on a one to one basis.
Swimming tickets must be pre-booked.
The inflatables will be open all day. Please remember that parents are responsible for supervising their own children at all times. The usual inflateables rules apply - no shoes, no food/drink (& sorry no adults).
Pick Up Sticks Climbing Frame
The pick up sticks climbing frame is for juniors and, as with all activities over the weekend, parents are responsible for supervising their own children at all times.
Water Slide & Games
A water slide and various games will be left on the field - so help yourselves. Feel free to bring along anything you would like to play (e.g. football, kite, frisbee etc.).
A group camp-fire will be organised in the centre of the field at around 7.30pm with campfire damper(/twists) and marshmallows. As the night draws in we will have music and song to round off the day. If you have a musical instrument, please bring it along to accompany the singing.
To keep us all safe and avoid fire hazards please refrain from bringing any fire equipment e.g firepit, candles, sparklers etc.
Food & Drink
The evening BBQ, starting after 6pm, will consist of a choice of burgers, sausages or hot dog with salad this will be followed by an ice cream. Note that the burgers and sausages (but not the hot dog sausages) are gluten free. Halloumi will be provided as a vegatarian option - please indicate on your booking form your dietary requirements.
Marshmallows and sticks will be provided for marshmallow toasting.
Breakfast on Sunday morning will consist of cereals, bacon butties, orange/apple juice, tea/coffee and brioche.
Tea, Coffee and squash will be provided during the weekend in the main marquee.
Cooking equipment can be stored and used in our designated area on the playground if the BBQ options do not meet with your dietary needs. Please be aware that some of the ice creams will contain nuts.
The tuck shop will be open between 4pm and 6pm selling soft drinks and sweets - and glow things. Note: we will not be selling alcohol on site so remember to bring your own, but please drink responsibly!
