Message from the New Chair

Hello! It gives me great pleasure to write this message to introduce myself as the new Chair of the Friends of Goldsworth School. My name is Clare Charrier and I currently have two children at Goldsworth (Years 1 and 3) with another starting next year. Following on from the Extraordinary AGM, we now have a full complement to the Friends Committee, with Neil McPherson kindly staying on as the Vice-Chair, Kate Howard as the new Secretary and Neil Hampton as our new Treasurer.

The outgoing team has done a truly fantastic job and I would like to say a huge thank-you for their outstanding efforts to Neil, David, Alison, Siriol and Helen. I can only hope our new team can be half as efficient.

Hopefully our new Reception children have settled in well and are enjoying life here at Goldsworth. Rest assured, they are in very capable hands with Mrs Taylor, Miss Harbridge and Mrs Wood. I look forward to meeting our new parents and carers supporting the Friend's events this year.

We are still seeking volunteers to help organise and run the school discos. It's a straight-forward job and there is always a lot of support from the teachers and parents for what is a hugely enjoyable event for the children. It would be a great shame if we couldn't run this event due to lack of volunteers. If you would like to help or would simply like more information about what the event organisation entails, please contact me on chair@goldsworthfriends.org.uk

Many of you contribute your valuable time to assist the school in a variety of ways and it is an important part of why our school is so successful. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your dedication and time and I look forward to working with you in the months to come.

Clare
