Thank you!

Another school year is over and we can look back on plenty of fun-filled events enjoyed by families, children and the grown-ups across Goldsworth! It has been another amazing fundraising year too, with total profits once again reaching a record level - this year a mind-blowing £27,600!!

A huge thank you goes to each and every one of you who volunteered, organised, took part and donated to make each event a triumph. Quiz Night, Diwali Fireworks Festival, Christmas Fayre, School Disco, Bingo Night, termly Tuck Shop, Summer Dance, Uniform Sales, Summer Fayre, Happy School Bags, Yearbook, Freeze Pop Fridays…the list goes on! It is fantastic to see so many people get involved to really grow the Goldsworth community as well as raise funds for the school.

Special thanks to all the fabulous Class Reps who have stepped forward, brought their classes together and helped others to participate in our many activities - it’s hugely appreciated! Thanks also to the Committee and Trustees; Tina Staal-Williams, Rachel Turner, Carrie Mitchell and Gill Kozlowski for their commitment and hard work to ensure Friends of Goldsworth continues to be a success.

Our fantastic fundraising has made a huge difference to all the Goldsworth children as we’ve been able to provide:

⭐️ the awesome running track - allowing use of the field throughout the year and helping to continue healthy learning opportunities such as the Mile A Day
⭐️ team kit for a wide range of school sports, boosting the morale of our teams representing Goldsworth at home and away
⭐️ a second PA system helping to keep everyone informed at major events like sports days, swimming galas and fayres
⭐️ frog floats to enable our new swimmers to gain confidence in the water and for all children to have fun in the pool!

It is brilliant that so many new volunteers have got involved this year as we have continued our vision to further develop our community, embracing and celebrating the rich cultural mix of our school, and building stronger links with our local community.

The Friends organisation endeavours to exhibit the important values taught at Goldsworth; respect, hope, ambition, courage, truth, love, responsibility and participation. What better way to demonstrate these values to our children than through spending time together and strengthening our own school community. We look forward to getting to know more of you and hearing your suggestions in the coming year. Watch out for our annual meeting in the Autumn, open to all parents and carers to come along, vote in the Committee and share your ideas.

Thank you for all your support this year - we could not have achieved all this without you.

Please follow and share our Friends of Goldsworth Facebook page with class mates and new families joining the school, and maybe give some thought to being the Friends Secretary or Vice-Chair next year!

Have a brilliant Summer!

Helen
