Annual General Meeting

Thu 21 Oct | 7:00pm | Goldsworth School

Dear parents, carers and friends

The Friends of Goldsworth is the parent, teachers and friends association involved in raising funds to provide extra facilities and equipment for the children of Goldsworth Primary School. It is also a registered Charity. Every parent is automatically a member of the Friends when their child starts at our school.

The Friends of Goldsworth is an essential part of school life. Without it, the school would not have received tens of thousands of pounds of additional funds, which has provided the all-weather track on the field, hundreds of books for the library, phonics learning materials, playground equipment for infants and juniors, sports kit and lots more!

Parent and carer volunteers also organise amazing events such as our Diwali Fireworks Festival, school discos, tuck shops, quiz nights, Summer and Christmas Fayres, as well as Santa’s Grotto!

To continue all these brilliant events and to support our children at Goldsworth, we need your help!

As a registered charity we need to have a committee in place to help run the organisation, as well as volunteers to run and support events.

Every year we vote in volunteers for each committee role at our annual meeting which will take place on Thursday 21 October at 7pm.

We need to fill these roles so Friends of Goldsworth can continue to run:

Chair

Run the organisation with parents and teachers and ensure that as a registered charity our Charity Commission obligations are met.

Vice-Chair

Support the Chair with running the organisation and assist individual volunteers with event management.

Treasurer

Manage the charity finances, bank accounts, invoicing and reimbursements, and complete statutory annual returns.

Secretary

Facilitate termly committee meetings and record the minutes. Support with obtaining event licences.

Communication Lead

Provide regular communication to parents and carers via email, newsletters and social media posts on events, news and requests. Maintain the contact lists and liaise with Class Reps to support events.
