This year's Silent Auction is bigger and better than ever before.

We will be opening up for ONE WEEK of online bidding in advance of the Christmas Fayre, to give more people a chance to bid on our amazing prizes. You will be able to bid via our Facebook page before the Christmas Fayre and get your high offer in early!

Terms & conditions – 2019 Christmas Fayre Silent Auction 

Friends of Goldsworth Primary School 

1. How to Bid

1.1. Via Facebook: To bid in the Silent Auction, Facebook entrants will need to comment on the image of each Silent Auction Prize they wish to bid on with the amount in Pounds and Pence they wish to bid.

1.2. In person: To bid in the Silent Auction, attendees of the Christmas Fayre will need to visit the Silent Auction Stall and place their bids, in writing, on each Silent Auction Prize form they wish to bid on with the amount in Pounds and Pence they wish to bid.

1.3. One winner will be selected based on the highest bid from both Facebook and in person bids combined. In the case that two Entrants bid the same amount, then the first Entrant to have made their bid will be selected as the Winner.

1.4. By participating in this Silent Auction, Entrants confirm they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

 

2. When to Bid and Who can Bid

2.1. The Silent Auction is open to anyone, but all Prizes must be collected in person from Goldsworth Primary School.

2.2. Entrants must be aged 16 or over.

2.3. The Silent Auctions opens on Facebook on Friday 22nd November 2019 at 2:15pm UK time and closes on Facebook on Friday 29th November 2018 7pm UK time. Facebook entrants can enter at any point between these dates. All bids will then be transferred over to the Christmas Fayre bidding forms, and In Person bids will then open on Sunday 1st December at 12noon and close on Sunday 1st December at 3pm UK time.

2.4. Entrants are responsible for reading the full Prize item listing before making a bid.

2.5. Entrants can bid as many times as they wish on each Prize auctioned.

2.6. Automated or bulk entries will be disqualified.

2.7. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this Silent Auction.

2.8. No responsibility can be accepted for bids not received for whatever reason.

2.9. Entrants who only bid via Facebook risk being out-bid when the Silent Auction is transferred to in person bids at the Christmas Fayre. Therefore the Friends of Goldsworth encourage Entrants to visit the Christmas Fayre Silent Auction stall to place their final bids.

 

3. Silent Auction Prizes

3.1. The Silent Auction Prizes will be selected by the Friends of Goldsworth and must be collected by the Winners from Goldsworth Primary School, Bridge Barn Lane, Woking GU21 7NL.

3.2. The Friends of Goldsworth will try to offer reliable item listing information, but cannot promise that the description provided will always be available, accurate, complete and up-to-date as it may be provided by a third-party.

3.3. Some Silent Auction Prizes will be subject to a “Starting bid”, reserve price. Bids below that price will not be considered.

3.4. The Silent Auction Prizes are as stated and they cannot be sold or exchanged for cash, goods or services. The Silent Auction Prizes are not transferable.

3.5. The Winner will be informed by Facebook messenger, or email, within 7 days of the closing date. If the Winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the Winner and pick a replacement Winner.

 

4. Data Protection and Publicity

4.1. All entrants consent to their name, photograph and basic information being disclosed on Friends of Goldsworth’s digital channels or other media if they win any Prize under the Silent Auction.

4.2. Any personal data relating to Entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation. By entering the Silent Auction, you agree that the Friends of Goldsworth may contact you in relation to the Silent Auction.

 

5. Silent Auction Rules

5.1. The Promoter is the Friends of Goldsworth Primary School.

5.2. The Prizes will be awarded at the Friends of Goldsworth Primary School’s sole discretion.

5.3. The Friends of Goldsworth Primary School’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

5.4. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Friends of Goldsworth Primary School’s social media pages, and to refuse entry into the Silent Auction.

5.5. We reserve the right to change the Silent Auction rules and these Terms and Conditions from time to time. If we do so, we will always have the most up to date terms and conditions on the Website and in the case of a discrepancy between these terms and conditions and those on the Website, the Website terms and conditions will apply. Your continued use of the website will constitute your acceptance of the new rules and/or Terms and Conditions.

5.6. Payment for prizes must be received by 13th December 2019. If payment is not received by this date, then we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the Winner and pick a replacement Winner.

5.7. Payment must be made in cash, or via bank transfer. Our bank details are:

6. Liability and Indemnities

6.1. Except in the case of death or personal injury arising from its negligence, or in respect of fraud, and so far as is permitted by law, The Friends of Goldsworth Primary School and its associated companies exclude responsibility and all liabilities, whether direct or indirect, arising from:

6.1.1. any postponement or cancellation of the Silent Auction or Christmas Fayre;

6.1.2. any changes to, supply of or use of the Prizes; and

6.1.3. any act or default of any supplier, which are beyond the Friends of Goldsworth Primary School’s reasonable control.

 

6.2. The Friend’s of Goldsworth Primary School does not accept responsibility for any liability arising from technical incompatibility, problems relating to the internet, or technical difficulties of any kind.

6.3. The Friends of Goldsworth Primary School shall not be liable, whether in tort, contract, misrepresentation or otherwise for loss of profits, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goods, loss of use, loss or corruption of data or information, or any special, indirect, consequential or pure economic loss, costs, damages, charges or expenses.

6.4. You agree to indemnify Friends of Goldsworth Primary School against all liabilities, claims and expenses that may arise from any breach of your agreement with the Friends of Goldsworth Primary School.

6.5. This Silent Auction is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook. By participating you hereby release and hold harmless Facebook from any and all liability associated with this Silent Auction.

 

7. Jurisdiction 

7.1. The Silent Auction and these Terms and Conditions are governed by English Law. England & Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
